I was swimming the big wide sea called the internet when I chanced upon Mark Twain's article here. I know there's only one person who reads this blog who studied German and would truly empathize with Mark Twain's frustrations with the language. Guten Morgen. Indeed, one must start from the wrong end, mix up the order of the sentence, figure out whether the rain is male, female or neuter ...arrgghhhhh. Engrissssh anyday man.
deevee8 - I totally agree. My friend asks me now and then whether I'm learning German again, so she has someone to practise with. *shake head vigorously*
Never realized there's 6 uses for "sie" though. :P
