Handsome Teddies

Before this obsession with shoes and clothes grew, I loved teddy bears. Right since I was a little kid. Maybe it's because I'm a tactile person. The fur of the teddies are just comforting. I can always talk to the teddy, and teddy would always listen. Never mind that he cannot reply. Listening is good enough; in fact, sometimes that's all that is wanted.

Today, I suddenly recalled this teddy bear artist who creates the most handsome bears I knew then when I was into mohair teddies. Handsome teddies can get me more excited than handsome men would. Just look at "Henry" and you'll see why.

A Little Less Conversation

My younger brother finally returned my Elvis #1 Hits CD, after 4 years. I put Let Me Be (Your Teddy Bear) on repeat mode all night, not least because I love teddy bears. The song goes like this:

Oh baby let me be
Your loving teddy bear
Put a chain around my neck
And lead me anywhere
Oh let me be
Your teddy bear

*Chorus
I don't wanna be a tiger
Cause tigers play too rough
I don't wanna be a lion
Cause lions ain't the kind
You love enough
Just wanna be, your teddy bear
Put a chain around my neck
And lead me anywhere
Oh let me be
Your teddy bear

Oh baby let me be, around you every night
Run your fingers through my hair
And cuddle me real tight

* Chorus

I just wanna be your teddy bear

I think the oldies are just so fun. Can you imagine a current pop song about wanting to be your teddy bear? The current pop songs just scream sex, sex, and, (can we change topic already?) more sex, and are sometimes incomprehensible otherwise. I know, someone is going to say, doesn't this thing about "put a chain around my neck" smacks of S&M? But that so misses the point.

Maybe, as Elvis sang, "We need a little less conversation, a little more action please." *wink*
