Sunday Walk 3 - Big Splash to Suntec City

On Sunday, we set off past 3pm after the rain to continue our walk from two Sundays before, our Sunday Walk 2.

On Sunday Walk 2, we had ambitiously attempted to walk from Parkway Parade to Esplanade. The man has done it once before years back so we relied on his memory. So we walk to East Coast Park, past Fort Road and discovered that NParks had extended the cycling track. We walked and walked on the long smooth track, until we reach a big green building with desolate surroundings, which is also where ECP met KPE. There was no way to continue unless you attempt to cross the many lanes of expressway, and risk walking along the road shoulder. Obviously, we turned back.

So this week, we walked from Big Splash to continue the journey. We discovered that:

eating ice-cream on a warm day along the beach is perfect indulgence;
Katong Park doesn't seem to be very utilised in the day;
the neighbourhood around Kallang River is really peaceful;
the new (to-be-opened) Stadium MRT Station is huge.

I also noticed the Golden Mile Tower for the first time, although I drive past so often. We didn't make it t Esplanade though. Even before we reached Suntec City, we decided we need cold drinks and air-con. We can do another walk, another Sunday. I like seeing the city on foot.

SL - that's dangerous for the wallet! :p at least in my case. Of course, it's fun too but it bores the man.

ooh.. i did the stretch from east coast to suntec city too! but sounds like it might be on a different route. i found the walk on the ecp from the tg rhu condos to suntec a tad too unsettling. too many construction types loitering around.

edp junkie - you walked along ECP? We didn't know how to continue along ECP so we crossed the river near Kallang Indoor Stadium instead. very pleasant. :)
